Unconfirmed draft of the State Department Employee Dissent Channel Memo

Here's a copy of a "Dissent Channel" memo opposing the Trump Administration's January 27 visa and refugee entry ban Executive Order. The memo has been circulating within the State Department and is apparently supported by several hundred Foreign Service, consular, and civil service employees. The memo objects to the Executive Order as contrary to American core values, as poorly conceived and drafted, as damaging to U.S. relationships with and standing in Muslim countries, and that better alternatives are available to protect Americans from admission of terrorists.

State Department regulations require that Dissent Channel memos be brought to the attention of senior leaders within the agency, and that users be protected from Departmental reprisal. Lets see if that applies to the White House, too.
